For several years, the Pays de la Loire Region has been committed to the development of industrial robotics for the benefit of businesses in the Loire region. In 2005, the first stage was the creation of the Automated and Composite Technological Platform of La Roche-sur-Yon and Vendée. The Regional Council has significantly strengthened its commitment with the launch in 2013 of the PROXINNOV Regional Innovation Platform, a federating place for the development of robotics in the Pays de la Loire region and a regional response to the national Robotization of SMEs / SMIs.
As a continuation of this commitment, the Pays de la Loire Region becomes a main partner alongside La Roche-sur-Yon Agglomeration of the first edition of Robot4Manufacturing in October 2016, a business convention dedicated to industrial robotics.

The Pays de la Loire region in terms of robotics is a regional and local network of manufacturers, integrators, component manufacturers, laboratories, technical centers, providing useful and complementary resources for the development of a strong robotic cluster. But it is also a fabric of SMEs / SMIs interested in robotics, which will enable them to gain in performance, productivity, quality, security, adaptability and thus to win new markets.

For the next few years, the Pays de la Loire Region and La Roche-sur-Yon agglomération wish to further strengthen the robotic cluster around PROXINNOV. Both communities are supporting the Robotic & Manufacturing Industrial Campus project, which could bring together by 2018 a SEPRO training center, an ICAM (5th year robotics) branch, around a range of services and facilities, Accompaniment of companies with first-class testing and testing facilities.
